Closing the Laurel Clinic

After 18 years of calling the funky little building at the corner of Laurel and MacArthur home, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close our Laurel location. Our last day of service at Laurel will be Friday, May 22nd.

Why the Change?

This wasn’t an easy choice, but several factors made it clear that a shift was needed to keep OAP sustainable. Between the challenges of maintaining stable staffing across two locations and the Laurel building going up for sale this past year, we realized we needed to consolidate our resources to better serve you.

What Happens Next?

Beginning June 1st, Sarah and Evelyn will join Dawn and Holly at our Grand Avenue location.  Our Schedule will be as follows (though please visit Vagaro for the most up to date information):

  • Monday – 9am – 2pm (Evelyn) / 2pm – 7pm (Dawn)
  • Tuesday – 9am – 2pm (Evelyn) / 2pm – 7pm (Holly)
  • Wednesday – 9am – 2pm (Sarah) / 2pm – 7pm (Evelyn)
  • Thursday – 9am – 2pm (Sarah) / 2pm – 7pm (Dawn)
  • Friday – 9am – 2pm (Sarah) / 2pm – 7pm (Holly)
  • Saturday – 9am – 1pm (Dawn / 1pm – 6pm (Holly)
  • Sunday – 9am – 2pm (Holly) & 2pm – 7pm (Dawn)

You can start booking appointments for June and beyond with Sarah and Evelyn at the Grand clinic on May 1st through the Grand Vagaro Link.  (Booking with Dawn and Holly is already available)

Please note that Evelyn will be out of town the first week of June and Sarah will be out of town the 2nd – 4th week of June.

We recognize that this transition may be difficult for some of our Laurel regulars. Grand Avenue is in a busier neighborhood, and importantly, the building is not ADA accessible (it requires a short flight of stairs). We sincerely apologize for any disruption this causes to your care.  Please keep reading to find out our plans to address this issue in the future.

Looking Toward the Future

Please know that our stay at Grand Ave is a bridge to something better. We are actively searching for a new, long-term home that is more ADA accessible. Our goal is to move into a space that meets everyone’s needs by this fall when our Grand Ave lease concludes.

Help Us Honor the Space

We know this is big news and you likely have many questions and feelings about the move. To ensure we can keep our treatment sessions focused on your care and healing, we ask that you please address these questions and feelings by emailing the clinic at OaklandAcu@gmail.com.  You can email any questions, concerns, or logistical inquiries and we will address common questions in upcoming newsletters. Also, if you have a favorite story or a bit of love for the Laurel clinic, we’d love to hear it! Let’s celebrate the 18 years of healing that happened in this space.
