My journey to becoming a massage therapist began with my dream of becoming an acupuncturist. As a student of Chinese medicine, I became interested in learning more about therapeutic bodywork and decided to incorporate massage into my education. I very quickly began to appreciate the results and utilize the healing effects of bodywork.
I am currently attending American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine working toward my Master’s degree and acupuncture license. I began my education at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego where I also worked toward my Asian Bodywork Certification.
The core of my training as a therapist is rooted in Chinese medicine and acupuncture theory, and I consistently use this knowledge to examine every ache and pain in a holistic fashion, taking into account all aspects of each individual’s situation. I truly believe that in order to thoroughly address any health issue, you must take an overall look at the entire picture of what is happening with your body and treat not only the symptoms you are experiencing, but the root cause of the symptoms. I am trained in many different modalities of massage, including Tui Na, Shiatsu, Thai massage, Swedish & circulatory, sports massage and deep tissue. I charge on a sliding scale, $1-$1.50 per minute. Jim Howley: New massage therapist starting May 1! Jim is offering a discounted rate for your first session with him: $55 for an hour, or $70 for 90 minutes. Cash strongly preferred, checks accepted.
I am a Certified Massage Therapist who strives to support people in feeling more relaxed and pain-free. I have been passionate about helping people since I was a young child and through massage, I have the opportunity to give back to my community and humanity. I have been told that I have a very intuitive touch, seeking out sources of pain and tension. I appreciate this gift and want to share it with as many people as I can.
My style is slow, fluid and a true integration of techniques in order to help your body and spirit achieve new levels of relaxation and rejuvenation. Each session is a unique reflection of our combined intentions toward your health and wellness. Sessions can include long, flowing strokes to increase circulation and relaxation; a deeper pressure to help relax knots and create increased range of motion; acupressure points to create balance, and stretches and joint rotations to help align the body and create greater ease of movement.
I received my certification from the World School of Massage and Holistic Healing Arts in San Francisco. You can visit my website here for more information.
My rates are as follows:
45 minutes: $55-75
60 minutes: $70-90
75 minutes: $85-105
90 minutes: $100-125
120 minutes: $130-155
Cash strongly preferred, though checks are accepted.
I look forward to supporting you in your path of wellness! (614-361-0158)
In our desire to be fair and available to all of our clients, and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we require 24 hour advanced notice when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice, or if you do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full amount of your appointment ($1 per minute scheduled). This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
Please keep in mind that appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will determine if there is enough time remaining to start a session. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session length you booked. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, please plan
accordingly and try to be on time or even 10 minutes early for your appointment. If you are less rushed to get to your appointment, you will be more relaxed and ready for your session!
Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to supporting you!
