Sarah Schiffer
I am a holistic massage therapist who strives to support people in feeling more relaxed and pain-free. I have a nurturing, intuitive touch, and create a safe space where you can relax and let go of any stress you may be experiencing. I will treat you with compassion and love, and am skilled at listening to your body and finding areas that have tension or pain to be released.
My style is slow and combines many modalities, including long, flowing strokes
to increase circulation and relaxation, Deep Tissue to release knots and create increased range of motion, acupressure points to create
balance, and stretches and joint rotations to help align the body and create greater ease of movement. I encourage my clients to gain
greater awareness of their bodies and will give you suggestions to maintain a healthy lifestyle and access your own healing powers.
I studied massage at the World School of Massage and Holistic Healing Arts in San Francisco. The modalities I offer are Swedish, Deep Tissue, Vibrational Healing Massage Therapy, Lymphatic, Structural Foot Balancing, Reflexology, and Shiatsu. I often combine many of these in a session, depending on your needs, or I am happy to stick with one at your request. I look forward to supporting you in your path of wellness! My journey to becoming a massage therapist began with my dream of becoming an acupuncturist. As a student of Chinese medicine, I became interested in learning more about therapeutic bodywork and decided to incorporate massage into my education. I very quickly began to appreciate the results and utilize the healing effects of bodywork.
I am currently attending American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine working toward my Master’s degree and acupuncture license. I began my education at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego where I also worked toward my Asian Bodywork Certification.
The core of my training as a therapist is rooted in Chinese medicine and acupuncture theory, and I consistently use this knowledge to examine every ache and pain in a holistic fashion, taking into account all aspects of each individual’s situation. I truly believe that in order to thoroughly address any health issue, you must take an overall look at the entire picture of what is happening with your body and treat not only the symptoms you are experiencing, but the root cause of the symptoms. I am trained in many different modalities of massage, including Tui Na, Shiatsu, Thai massage, Swedish & circulatory, sports massage and deep tissue. (415)309-9500 Schedule now!
CANCELLATION POLICY:
In our desire to be fair and available to all of our clients, and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we require 24 hour advanced notice when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice, or if you do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full amount of your appointment ($1 per minute scheduled). This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
LATE ARRIVALS:
Please keep in mind that appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will determine if there is enough time remaining to start a session. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session length you booked. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, please plan
accordingly and try to be on time or even 10 minutes early for your appointment. If you are less rushed to get to your appointment, you will be more relaxed and ready for your session!
Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to supporting you!
