What a blessing to be able to share that quiet, healing space with my daughter. She loved the acupuncture and how she felt afterwards (I loved it, too.) So we’ll be making more appointments!

Oakland Acupuncture Project was a God-send to me. I attended my first visit just to accompany my daughter with no expectation that it would become so important in my life. Upon completion of the medical history info, I was advised that acupuncture might help artithritis. I was skeptical about this representation. After an MRI, my doctor had told me that my left left leg was FULL OF ARTHRITIS. And so, for several years, I had severe arthritis in my left leg, suffered considerable pain and walked with a demonstrative limp. I had never heard of acupuncture as a help. OAP encouraged me to start with a couple of sessions a week for several weeks and then continue once a week. I would never have tried this plan but for the reasonable cost of $15 per session. It was wonderful - I could count on no arthritic pain by maintaining my weekly visits. Of course I also learned that acupuncture produced other benefits such as relief of tension, and unbelieveable peace with only minutes of rest. After about a year, I began experiencing pain in my left leg again. I was shocked and confident that my acupuncture experience meant it couldn’t be the arthritis. My doctor’s visit revealed that I had no cartilage in my left hip and needed a hip replacement. But for OAP, I would never have known about the hip replacement need. I would never have raised the issue with my doctor as I would have been sure it was just the arthritis and that I just had to live with it as I had been doing for years before. Thanks to OAP. I had the hip replacement, no longer have a limp and no pain. My trips to OAP are less frequent now but because of my experience, my husband and three adult daughters are OAP clients. My husband who is 76 has no pains, no blood pressure problems, plays rackquetball or squash daily yet gets acupuncture regularly as a soothing stress-relief for his busy day job. Oakland Acupuncture Project has become a haven for me, a place that I know I can go to receive consistent caring health care. All of the practitioners have been attentive to helping me maintain healthy sleep and manage migraines. Also, they have welcomed my children, gently moving them from scraping to taking needles, alleviating their struggles with asthma. I am grateful to have OAP as an affordable resource for my family.

I have been a patient at the Oakland Acupuncture Project for three years. The acupuncture treatments have been very effective in relieving the arthritis pain in my hip and shoulder. Acupuncture is also great for relieving stress. I am grateful an affordable drug-free treatment is available for these chronic conditions.
I love coming to Oakland Acupuncture project and falling asleep in the chair. The practitioners are all caring, very competent, and professional. I have had some long time ailments for 20+ years that are doing a slow but steady vanishing act. At first I thought it was weird, then I was amazed, now I am grateful. Very grateful.

Hola! It is an honor and a pleasure to give a rambunctious shout out and positive kudos to The Oakland Acupuncture Project! My kids and I receive treatments there anytime we are injured or ill. We’ve been treated for anything from sore throats to colds, muscle pain, low energy, fatigue, and even martial arts injuries. The acupuncture and herbs they provide do wonders to help us maintain a strong immune system. Many times, prior to a singing engagement, treatments at Oakland Acupuncture Clinic have given me the energy boost I needed to fight off a cold and congestion, just in the nick of time to be able to perform. Thank You Roselle and Whitney!

I am truly grateful to the loving staff of the Oakland Acupuncture Project for my treatment and education of stress related illnesses. Weight reduction and focus have been extra benefits as a result of affordable acupuncture treatments, meditation and diet changes.
Now I’m ready to add exercise to the routine of caring for the body and mind.

I had always been interested in acupuncture and learned about Community Acupuncture Network online. Through CAN I found Oakland Acupuncture Project. I did not realize on my first visit that my experience would not only make me feel better, but also completely transform my perspective on my health. I am always looking for holistic and less intrusive routes to better health and well being. OAP has reinforced my search, and I am happier, better rested, and healthier having found it. I will always have acupuncture in my life. A word to the wary, but curious: It’s not painful. Any sensation you feel during acupuncture is infinitesimally insignificant compared to the pain or discomfort that you are in right now. But here is what YOU need to do for it to work. You have to make that first appointment. And you have to come back, as regularly as you can, for you to experience feeling better. Take your healing in your own hands!- Nirupama Lal, a regular convert
